How do I get my i6 fan to work with a smart thermostat?

With your Big Ass Fans mobile app account, you can pair your i6 fans with your smart thermostats to increase energy savings and live more comfortably. When an i6 fan is connected with a smart thermostat, they work together to reduce heating and cooling costs.

To pair an i6 fan with a smart thermostat, sign in to your Big Ass Fans account and make sure your fans are connected to the account. See How do I connect my i6 fan to my Big Ass Fans account? for instructions.

Note: i6 fans currently work with ecobee smart thermostats.

SETTING UP SMART THERMOSTAT INTEGRATION

  1. Follow the instructions included with the thermostat to install the thermostat and set up your thermostat account. Remember your password — you will need it later.
  2. Open the Big Ass Fans app. Tap , and then tap Smart Home Integrations. 
    • If you are not signed in to a Big Ass Fans account, you will be prompted to create or sign in to an account.
  3. Select your thermostat type, and then follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your account. It may take a few seconds for the sign-in screen to load.
  4. When prompted, select the thermostat you want to link with your fan, and then tap Next.
  5. When prompted, select the fan you want to link with your thermostat, and then tap Next.
  6. Customize your Thermostat Assist preferences, and then tap Next.
  7. On the Setup Complete screen, tap Done. Your thermostat is now linked with your fan.
  8. Turn on Fan Auto from your Bluetooth remote or in the app, and let your fan and thermostat work together to keep you comfortable.

Linking a New Fan

  1. In the Big Ass Fans app, tap , and then tap Smart Home Integrations.
  2. Select your thermostat type.
  3. Select the thermostat you want to link with your fan.
  4. When prompted, select the fan you want to link with your thermostat, and then tap Next.
  5. Customize your Thermostat Assist preferences, and then tap Next.
  6. On the Setup Complete screen, tap Done. Your thermostat is now linked with your fan.
  7. Turn on Fan Auto from your Bluetooth remote or in the app, and let your fan and thermostat work together to keep you comfortable.

Changing Which Fan is Linked to a Thermostat

  1. In the Big Ass Fans app, tap , and then tap Smart Home Integrations.
  2. Select your thermostat type.
  3. Select the thermostat you want to link with a different fan.
  4. Tap the fan name at the top of the Thermostat Options screen, and then select the fan you want to link with this thermostat.
  5. Customize your Thermostat Assist preferences, if desired.

CONNECTING AN ADDITIONAL SMART THERMOSTAT ACCOUNT

  1. In the Big Ass Fans app, tap , and then tap Smart Home Integrations.
  2. Select your thermostat type, and then follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your account. It may take a few seconds for the sign-in screen to load.

CAN I CONNECT MORE THAN ONE FAN TO MY THERMOSTAT?

At this time, only one i6 fan can be connected to each smart thermostat.
